I have not seen this being mentioned before, so I am hoping someone would be able to clarify if the following is indeed a defect.

What I am experiencing is some annoying red dots in the scanned image. I am using FilmGet 1.03 with Picture Window Pro 3.1. I am also using a color profile, but I guess it should not matter. The slide is a Kodak Ektachrome E100VS (or E100S). Check out the images on:


Should I be concerned? I think the scanner is working quite well otherwise.
