: I recently bought a FS4000. When I try to scan 2000 lpi or greater it always tell me Insufficient memory. My hardware is as follows; Mac G4 (with 350mb RAM) Photoshop 7.0 and ofcourse the canonscan FS4000US. Are there somebody out there that suffered from the same kind of problem? Could some one help me, please?

Since no one with a Mac seems to answer, I'll try, though I use W98Se.
A 4000 dpi image at 48 bits gives a file of =I think-about (I'm not to sure and haven't got any unprocessed files at the moment) 90 MB
Older versions of Photoshop take about thee times that amount and then you have to add what filmget uses, so it may indeed be not enough. I have used PS5 with filmet on a PC with 512 Mb without real peroblems. Apart from adding memory, there is another option: I scan in Vuescan, which is standalone and not Twain, so you don't start PS7.
