For some reason, the FARE dust removal feature won't work on my FS4000US. Whenever I try to run it, either I get a message half way through the first scan that FARE has failed, or the scan finishes but no dust removal has taken place. I've tried calling Canon customer service, but their web site only seems to bounce me to a service site for the Powershot digital cameras. I finally succeeded in reaching a phone number for scanner technical support; however three different CSR's either passed me off to someone else (who didn't know what to do about the problem or insisted that I needed to call (at my expense) another number. My questions: (1) does anybody out there have any idea what's causing this problem; and is there something I can do at home to fix it; and (2) has anyone else had this kind of poor service from Canon USA? Since I've owned Nikons since 1980, I've never had to contact Canon service previously; but I must say I've never worked with a worse tech support department. Does anyone have a number for getting through to someone who actually answers questions, instead of saying "we don't have anything to do with that here"?
