What type of SCSI card are you using? I've been wondering whether a move to SCSI would make a reasonable difference in scanning times if a cheaper FASTSCSI2 card is used, or if a more valuable WIDE SCSI card is required to get any real benefit. The latter costs something like 25% of the price of the scanner itself, while the former is closer to 10%.
