I just had recently the same problem ( Windows 2000 )
Switching to a different USB port of my computer helped.
I have meanwhile five external units working on the USB bus and it seems to me a hub is not a good solution. I just got an USB2 board for my external Maxtor 120 GB disk. The second output on this board serves now my scanner. No problems at the moment.
: Hi. I've been using my scanner for nearly a year now. But suddenly after returning from a few weeks away it's started hanging up at the start of scans. I'm running it on windows XP and can't understand it. The scan just stops and the only waty to get out is to close photoshop in task manager, restart windows & start again, there by loosing any files open in photoshop.
